I'm envious of the new Prius. The power plant that thing has and all the looks you get. I'd throw my F-150 away for one in a heartbeat

I just want an eco boost. The rest of it is basically carry over.

To option a new truck the same as mine (4x4, sun roof, leather, tow package/mirrors), I'd be paying 700 bucks a month for 5 years. Then add all the aftermarket stuff I've come to love (borla exhaust, toyo tires, leveling kit, bilstein shocks), and I'm further in debt.

Compared to a truck that's been paid off for years, I can't justify it. The repairs it's needed still don't come CLOSE to what I would have paid in monthly payments.

My '04 still gets the job done very comfortably. Just turned 88,000 miles. I'll drive it for several more years.

But then, I would be paying $550 plus insurance a month for the next 5 years.

My 2005 has been paid off since before 2012. Having no car note gives me room to do other things I enjoy.
5 years interest free would be $1,166 per month.

Of course, but then I go to the local Ford dealer on a Sunday and look at the sticker and laugh and say No way

Amen to that. You can do anything you want to your truck that you already love for that cost.

I would love to have a new one, but I'm also quite happy with my 08. It still looks good to me, and gets me from point A to point B. I have 2 years of payments left, but I'm already looking forward to being debt-free. There is no payment like NO payment.
