Default Alternator

I have a 2004 ford f150 svt 4x4, I just lost the alternator. I don't use it for anything but the stock stuff, the last one lasted 247,000 miles. So which one is best? stick with motorcraft?....

You have your answer...the stock motorcraft lasted 247K; why go in any other direction?

You can buy a cheap remanufactured one and take a chance that it will last, but many do not.

I was in a jam and needed to replace one in a hurry on my wifes 2005 Lariat. I ended up just picking one up from Autozone. Been over a year now and no issues.

Sometimes you get lucky. These rebuilt alternators are very hit and miss.

BTW, Rock Auto has both new and remain Motorcraft alts for pretty cheap. Might want to go that route.
