going back to stock looks like it could cost almost 400 dollars since my dumb *** didn't keep my stock air box, so am looking at alternatives like the gryphon programer with custom programs

Default Look for used

Try checking out your local LKQ/recycled yard, I'm sure there's an airbox in there for an F-150. You can use car-part.com to look for yards in your area that have one, and I bet you could get one for roughly $100.

I don't work for car-part.com, I'm an insurance adjuster.

What kind of deal you have in mind, and yes 04 to 08 seem to be the same.

I have an 07 5.4L and was wondering what CAI is a good one to purchase (without needing a programmer)... I really don't need one.... just hate what factory looks like, and also like to add a little HP or torque along the way.

Hey Pizza, if you really want an increase in horse power and torque, instead of a CAI you should look into gryphon programers, customized to your truck will give you more than a CAI, AFE also makes a replacement tube for your intake so you don't have to change out the whole airbox, will add a little more air flow and costs under $200 plus the price of an after market air filter for your stock air box. Just a couple things to think about.

So I just returned my truck intake back to factory, so we will see how it goes, of course gotta run around 100 miles before the truck fully runs its diagnostic tests, will post results and of course how AFE responds to it.
