Angry AFE Intake

Ok so I am at a loss. I have done my research and tried everything i can think of without spending money, any idea of how to fix the P0171 and P0174 error codes caused by my AFE intake. 05 F150 5.4V8. Has anyone used this CAI or know of anyone who had luck with it on an 05 F150? Thanks for any help.
o disconnect battery, tightened all connections reset codes - didn't work
o pull MAFS fuse turned key to run, waited 30 seconds cleared codes - didn't work
(I use my hypertech programmer to read and clear engine codes)

That's weird man. I have an AFE Stage 2 CAI on my 06 5.4L for about 8 months now with no problems whatsoever. I don't know what the difference would be. Have you tried cleaning the MAF? I've heard that can cause codes?

Cleaned MAF multiple times, from my research (google) apparently 04-05 have the issues

I know you don't want to spend any money...but you may have to get a gryphon with custom tunes. The 04-05 run extremely rich with an intake. Have you also tried the disconnect the battery over night so your truck has to re-learn your driving habits trick????

Yes the 04-05 5.4L calibrations were lean from the factory (some 06s too). Adding the A/M intake pushed it over the limit as it altered the MAF location and now the MAF cannot adequately meter the incoming air.

Take the intake off NOW, put the stock intake back on, and wait until you get a tuner WITH custom tunes. A stock EDGE or SCT will not solve your problem. Diablo might have a tuner with an intake program (they have bench tested the flow rates for several popular intakes).

If you don't you will burn pistons and valves.

Another option is the Gotts mod which will provide all the air your engine needs and it's damn near free - use the intake money for a tuner with custom tunes...

Superchips has CAI tunes now as well, they're available as updates to some of the older tuners.
