Default AC problem

Hello out there
My name is Joel and I am new to the forum.
I have an issue with a 04 new body style bought it used it has a little over 120k on it.
The ac compressor will not come on when called for. The display reads a temp setting and fan speed as well as i here the the blend doors change as i change the fan positions.
The low pressure and high pressure switches are good and power through them.
I can get the clutch solenoid to activate and turn the pump if i supply ground to the relay under the hood. All indicates that the bcm is not delivering a ground to the clutch relay.
Any one have any ideas.
Thanks.

Try and locate that ground and get it grounded, check the fuses also

I checked all the fuses related and described in the ford factory wiring book. It appears that the switching ground comes from the bcm.

My AC seems to not be as cold as it should, it will blow cold then less cold then cold. This same thing happens in my '05 F-150 and '06 Subaru Outback. Could this be that they need recharging the coolant? Has anyone used the DIY kits that are sold at the parts stores to recharge their AC?

Put a gauge on it... if the system is low on oil/freon it will not allow the system to cycle on..

Had a similar issue with mine not too long ago. Ended up having a leak in the high pressure line. Tried the DIY kits a few times without much luck. 1st time it worked but the leak let it out slowly. After I replaced the line there was air in the system and when I added the freon it all just leaked out around the nozzle because the system was full. So I had to take it somewhere that could vacuum the lines and refill. So it depends on the issue and if you want to potentially waste money getting the DIY kits because it can all leak out without your knowledge.
