2004 regular cab dome light issues.
I've noticed that the lights in my cab and the rear lights outside on top of the cab will randomly turn on. I sprayed WD-40 on the door latches and the little lever on the rear 1/2 doors on the cab. That didn't solve it.
I noticed that if I hit the dash right below the headlight control ****/ rolling dimmer switch (it is not rolled all the way up, I checked, lol) the lights will flicker, and eventually shut off after I hit it a few more times... This lead me to believe that the rolling switch was bad, so I removed the entire switch assembly from the dash. While I had the switches plugged in yet, I rolled the dimmer switch all the way down to the click to turn off the lights (the cab lights were still on after doing so) I held the switch in one hand, and hit the dash (left side directly under the opening where the light controls go) a few times with the other, the lights still flickered and eventually shut off as they should. I'd say it's safe to say the rolling switch is not bad, since hitting the dash still cured the issue when the rolling switch was isolated from the dash.
The lights do not always do this, but sometimes they even randomly turn on while I'm driving. It's very annoying and dangerous at night.
I even looked at all the wiring under the dash for loose wires and found nothing unusual. Also wiggling wires did not have any effect on the lights.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this? I'm worried that they will drain my battery if they happen to stay on all week. I'm currently a full time college student, so my truck sits all week without being driven.
Thanks for looking!

My lights do the same Same damn thing and I can't figure it out! It's so annoying!! It's been happing to me for the past year and a half and it hasn't stayed on long enough to kill my battery. But it would be great to find a solution be for I break my dash making them turn off. Haha
