Easy way to tell if it's a limited slip diff is spin a rear wheel/tire while the truck is in the air. If the opposite wheel/tire spins the same direction, it's a limited slip. If not, it's an open differential.

The easiest way is to look at the axle code on the sticker in the drivers door jamb.

I like seeing a nice, clean, new engine! Let us know how it runs after the install. Also, check the axle code on the door jamb sticker. That will say if it's LS or not.

Updates/pics to follow.

I bought the headers from Summit Racing... great price, service and delivery.

Thanks jer2900, techrep and 650NutKase for the advise about identifying axle... I appreciate your help

Axle Code is 'H9' - 3.55 Limited Slip

Update...

Many parts installed onto engine. Transmission has been overhauled. New Differential cover installed.

Amsoil installed into differential. I will be using Amsoil in the transmission and engine (after engine break-in - per Powersource's instructions) too.

Engine and transmission will be installed tomorrow (a little behind schedule).

Here are pics of the progress.

Update...

Engine and transmission reinstalled.

California compliant Magnaflow muffler and Cats received today.

My mechanic advised that engine should be running by tomorrow afternoon.

I will update again... until then - more pics!

Default Engine Running!!

Got a call from my mechanic this past Friday afternoon, advising that the installation was complete and the engine was running.

I left work a little early, to go see and (especially) hear the final product.

While I was curious of how the JBA shorty headers and Magnaflow muffler sounded (nice very low growl/rumble... exactly what I wanted), I wanted to hear whether the constant 'racket'; previously in the engine bay, was gone... ***WOW*** what a difference!

Sounds GREAT - no more racket.

I am initially, very pleased, with the 5.4 Powersource re-manufactured engine.

I still need to do a test drive, and after that time, I will provide another update.

My mechanic will have the truck over the weekend, performing final adjustments/inspections and I will pick it up on Monday afternoon.

I will get pics of the exhaust components on Monday
