Default installed new mirrors

After waiting for over a year for A1 Tony's mirrors and disappointed that you would have to run a seperate wire and switch for power fold and given the price, had hoped that they would do a multiplex type of design to eliminate the separate wire run, I decided to buy a set of towing mirrors elsewhere w/o power fold for half the price. The new set from AM-Autoparts are towing mirrors w/manual fold and retract but are Turn signal, power, puddle lamp & heated. Installed them Wed between rain drops, plug & play with the previously swapped climate controller, and they are working just fine. Because of the split mirrors will take a little time to get used to over the old ones, but convex mirror a 1000% better than old little spot mirror that I had attached. Already gotten used to folding drivers mirror in when I get out, passenger side will have to remain as is unless I happen to be going around that side of truck.
Thanks again to MBullock for the install pictures, not hard at all to put on.

Default climate control question

Hi all. I have been reading this post and others about upgrading the mirrors on my STX to the heated ones. I have purchased a set of mirrors and now need a climate control. I know that part number DL3Z-19980-E will work, but I can't find any used ones for sale. I have found a few of part number BL3T-19980-BG, which is listed for 2011-2012. They look the same. They have the icon for mirrors, which is all I need. Does anyone know if BL3T-19980-BG will work on a 2014? or not? Has anyone tried this unit on a 2013 or 2014.
Oh and thanks for a terrific thread on a great forum!

I think its pretty specific. I used a different climate control that had the mirror icon, and my heated mirrors do not work on my 2014 STX. I'll have to check the label next time I take the dash apart.

Thanks for the reply. I might have to bite the bullet and buy a new unit.
Still looking for a used one though.

It must be specific now but my 10 didn't need a specific number. I just found a used part and slapped it in and heaters work.

Thanks. I did some research on this. I checked car-parts.com used parts website, and some others. It looks like 2008-2011 work together. Also 2011 and 2012. Then we have 2013 and 2014 listed together. So it looks to me that I need something from a 2013 or 2014. What makes it confusing is the part numbers change. The number from a used 2014 climate control (DL3T19980BA) is different than the new part (DL3Z19980E).

I can confirm that climate control part number DL3T-99980-BA does work on a 2014 F150. I found a used one on car-part.com for a reasonable price. This number is listed for 2013 and 2014. I do not know about previous years, but it does work on a 2014.
