Default Upgrade Headlight Bulbs

I know this will spark many interests possibly, but I am wanting to switch out the factory bulbs in my headlights. I am not interested in adding HIDs or any sort of conversion kit. I simply want to swap bulbs for something a little bit better. I have looked at Sylvania, PIAA, Philips and Putco and even Recon. I'm not looking for a blue headlight bulb just something better than factory. What is y'all's opinions on bulbs?

Just as you mentioned, Sylvania is probably the most widely available, but as for "what is the best"? That's up to you.

The Sylvania are probably mid-high end replacement options. In my experience they burn out in 1/2 the time of regular replacement bulbs. Though they are noticeably better, they have a short life expectancy.

I can't speak on the piaa or others, but I'm sure others will chime in.

Hey! I put the piaa extreme white heads and fogs in before winter and love them huge improvement over stocks especially with highbeams if just wanting to replace bulbs! The bulbs are H13 heads and H10 fogs( sorry for the bad pics but hope ya get the idea!) Almost forgot I got a year warranty with them to for all the people worried about quick burnouts!

I have the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra for low/high beam. It is less yellow than stock and brighter; although I cant tell the packaging claims it will light up the roader at a wider angle than stock bulbs also.

so where's the best place to get the PIAA's? they seem to be "better" than the Sylvania's. Are they a pain in the **** to install in the headlights and fogs?

I have used the PIAA Extreme White bulbs in the wife's Exploder & my old truck. I will be replacing my headlights & fogs with the PIAA's soon in my new to me 2010. The PIAA's are noticeably brighter & whiter than the OEM bulbs. I haven't noticed them burning out sooner than the OEM, I would say they last around the same amount of hours.
