I just put in Silverstar Ultra's in the heads, but I couldn't find a 9140 or 9145 bulb for the fogs in the Ultra series, just the standard Silverstars. Looked on Sylvania's website too. Am I wrong and they do make them in the Ulta's? If they do not then the PIAA's may be the way to go.

IMO, you couldn't go wrong.

For the $ they'll last their value, however I believe you're right about the size and availability issue.

I just installed regular silverstars, because i couldn't find ultras in the foglights. Even at that i could only find 9145's instead of oem sized 9140's. stock they are 37watt but the 9145's are 45 watt. Negligible difference in electrical load to the truck. Should be fine.

Now that it is night, i can see a difference too, but what i really like is the color change in the light. A little whiter instead of dingy yellow, mucho better!

I've used just about all the bulbs mentioned minus the zxe's I hear they're nice. PIAAs burned out on me while trying to get to work one morning at 3am so I'm a little irritated with them and won't buy them again. burned out after 6 months use. The Sylvania Ultra's are my fav. off the shelf bulbs by far. the reg silverstar's are nice as well. Hella's burn out too fast and are bright but, not worth the money.

All of the above is why I'm spending a little extra $70 vs. $40 on DDM Tuning 55w 6K HIDs. I'm going to get LED fog and tag light replacement bulbs as well. Figured I'd give them a whirl. I have the DDM kit on my GTO and like them.

Installed Silverstar Ultras in headlights. Installed Silverstar 9145s in fogs. Wow! Immediately noticed a huge difference driving home tonight. Ford should use these from the factory. Very happy with my choice. I almost got PIAAs but my local Advance Auto had a special on these today so I snagged them.

Has anyone run the regular Silverstars and the Ultras? I've done it before in my previous vehicle. I liked how true colors looked with the Ultras but it seemed like the regulars projected usable light more. I've got a set of Ultras that I need to put in. Stock lights work great but when it rains, its really hard to see the lines on the road.
