My understanding is the limited has a thicker windshield and that's the only difference. Interestingly though, when I check online, it shows only one replacement option for a F-150 front windshield, platinum or otherwise.

I traded a 2011 Lariat for a 2012 Platinum and I can assure you that the windshields are not the same. I don't have pics of the windshield in the 2011 Lariat but here are a couple pics of the windshield in my 2012 Platinum.

My 2012 lariat does not have that windshield.

the plats are upgraded windshields but I feel that even the base trucks are whisper quiet now.

The ford flex Im in at the moment has the sound screen acoustic glass, but the car isnt very quiet!

Hopefully for the extra cash they do add more soundproofing to the platinums to justify the price, other than the gaudy hunk of plastic on the tailgate!

How can these things be any quieter? I only have a FX2 but this is the quietest vehicle I have ever had. Even with a headwind
