I have a 72" low profile UWS and keep golf clubs, steel toes, hard hat, safety glassess, and some small tools on my '11 FX4 with 5.5' bed.

I have a low profile box that is constantly in and out of my truck. I can't remember the brand off the top of my head. The biggest problem I have with it is that the inside does not seem to be sealed at all. The metal on the inside of the box oxidizes and gets gray aluminum powder all over everything.

If you end up with an aluminum box, make sure the metal on the inside is sealed somehow. I ended up painting the inside with some bed liner in a spray can. This helped a little but didn't completely solve the problem.

Thanks for the great info and pics!

Does anyone have a picture of their truck with a standard profile toolbox? I'm currently debating between Delta Pro, DeWalt, and Weather Guard - though I hear Weather Guard is amazing quality, albeit pricey. Are there any other brands I should take a look at? Security is important to me. I'd also like a toolbox I can open from the side of the bed pretty easily, once it's unlocked, so I can get what I need with minimal hassle.

I've been looking for a low profile, slim box for my truck. Fullsize boxes just look outta place to me on the 5.5' trucks. And they leave so little room.

I have a UWS black low profile tool box (well, actually rebranded by H&H) on my truck and love it! Not only does it look great, it is always useful for me to store tools, tie down straps, folding chairs, or whatever a particular occasion calls for. This is about the best pic I have that shows how tall it is above the bed rails:

Here's another pic from slightly above:

I definitely think the low profile is the way to go, as the normal profile sits really high.

Delta I believe is the brand. I'm not positive because I got it off my dad and honestly never looked. IMO it's one of the best low profiles I've seen. I can still fit small tools on the lip of the box which is nice. No water or oxidation issues after many years (both me and my dad's use). Sometimes I have to give the lid a good slam to get it to lock. I probably just need to service the mechanisms.

Got them at action, they are a bit pricey though. 200$ a side. They are called swing case by undercover. Lockable lid, can also lock them from being able to swing out. As well they can be pulled off there mounts if you need the whole space.
