Default Thin Door panels

Guys I have noticed on my new truck that on the drivers door of my Lariat screw in race red that if you look real close down the lower part of the body roll there is a small dent from the inside of the door panel like some pushing from inside of the door. A guy told me that there is glue on the inside of the door panels to a brace and I was seeing the glue poking out and bending the door panel. The way I noticed it, I was waxing the door and looking down the body to make sure I did not miss anyplace then I noticed it is very slight. The only way you see it is looking from the front of the truck down the side. I know someone on this forum has noticed it?? Thanks guys..

There are blobs of pink glue/foam between the door panel and the load bearing braces so your friend is probably right. It wouldn't be hard to take the door card out and use a razor knife to trim the pink stuff back if it bothers you. I think the pink stuff is there for spacing and rattle prevention. Doubt it affixes the panel to the brace.

Yes. There are at least two braces and multiple touch points.

Mr Yancey,

I am very suppressed to discover I'm not the only one. July 12 I picked up my 2013 Lariat that I ordered late in May. About a week later I found a dime size outie dent 15 inches directly under the drivers mirror, right in the curve of the door. Took it back, they took the door apart, said it happened when the window modulator was installed, dealer overlook it when they received the truck so they would have to cover it. And boy did they cover it......with swirl marks over the entire door that could easly be seen when a low angle sun was shining on it.
The dent repair is just a little wavy upon very close inspection and I was gong to accept that. But the swirl marks on the green gem clear coat are unacceptable. The 1st attempt to remove the swirls appeared to be good, it was 330pm as I looked at it with the sun shinning directly on the door. It did have some kind of oily residue on it but it looked good so I took it home. That was last Friday, it rained that night. Saturday at 5pm my brother-in-law walked in, said "they sure left a lot of swirls on your door"........my heart sunk, there area dozen swirl marks 6 to 16 inches long all over the door, and one even on the fender ahead, all very obvious when a low sun is shining on it. Its going back tomorrow at either 9am or 5pm and I am requesting an audience of upper management to observe and respond. At the least I expect a new factory painted door

If you have the same thing, I hope Ford can track down the employee in Kansas City Missouri that did this damage and then let it roll out the door.

Holy smoke that is the reason I don't want the dealer to touch it I know it will be worst then it is now. Mine is 1/2 way of the door in the curve of the door. It is not a dent it more like pressure from something inside the door pushing out. You can rub it with light pressure and it will 80% be gone for awhile until you open the door a few times and it back. I know it only a truck but it is my truck and I hate it is there. Sloppy work at the factory when this could have been avoided if you know what I mean.
