I also forgot to mention I'm working for the same dealership for 13 years. Sounds like you have a good dealer, I should add there are a few techs that do care more then others, but at the end of the day this is basically how it goes Client meets advisor to state problems Advisor opens a work order Tech gets work order brings in the vehicle confirms complaint Checks "online" vehicle brands own database for other similar complaints, then checks for recalls or tsb, if yes repairs as per guidelines If nothing is found online, tech usually ends up saying no fault found... Customer leaves without a fix or is given the option of paying door price to further investigate the problem.

WebDrama aside, this is an interesting thread.
My life's experience has kept me away from turbos; fun to drive, not fun to own. So when I had the choice of a 5.0 or an Ecoboost, I chose 5.0 because of simple physics driving the economics...
In TX, all vehicles get hot under the hood. Turbochargers add a lot more heat. TWO turbos would be even more. Too much heat causes a lot more failures. Failures cost money and downtime. So, for me, in TX, no salesman could tell me anything with a turbo would be better (remember when Chrysler put turbos on everything? Remember the turbo Mustang Cobra? Remember the SVO Mustang? Not many are still on the road - turbos kill engines). Makes me wonder if our Canadian friends are having better luck w Ecoboosts because it's cooler up there and the engine compartments don't get/stay as hot?
I'm sure we all have our F150s for what we wanted, and each of us has our own needs. A turbo ANYTHING wasn't on my list and will not be for the foreseeable future. But if you have an Ecoboost and it's workin' for ya, then I'm glad you got what you wanted! I won't be spoiling for a drag race - because I bought a truck LOL! Trucks make poor racers, and Mustangs are pretty lousy for hauling lumber and sacks of concrete.
By the way, the F250 is the most durable vehicle on the planet. I wanted one of them for that reason alone - until I realized how much more I'd spend feeding it; and then I realized I didn't need that much hauling capacity, so I went with the F150. It's a great truck, in spite of Sync and all the wonkiness it brings to the cab. And that GPS? I wish it didn't have it - so far, it seems that my Garmin is WAY better IN EVERY WAY.

I thought I would be hugely frustrated by Sync's navigation coming from a portable with live updates, to this, but it hasn't really bothered me or let me down, yet. That's with an A7 card.
If I really want to nitpick I have it set to tones only, but I wish they went off without muting the radio. Very small complaint, but I missed an answer they were discussing on the radio and it pissed me off. On the hand I was so engrossed in the conversation I may have missed the tone & the turn, if it was just in the background.
