Sorry I didn't get back sooner. My truck isn't my daily driver and I got stuck working o.t.. Anyway 1.) You should get a notification when you received a text message. 2.) If you did receive the text notification, use the voice activation button on your steering wheel. Say "Phone". Sync should repeat "Phone". Than you want say "Read text message". Sync should than read your text message to you, the display, in the upper center console, will also give you the senders name.
When you pair your phone to sync, make sure you down load your phone book.

This is an F150 site, and we are talking about the F150.

And no iphones do not work with the F150.

Not the old SYNC or the new MyFord touch found on the 13's work with iphone.

To the OP, i have a Note 2 and it works fine. Not perfect as sometimes it will not download the message, or it will tell you that the message could not be sent. But it does send it.

Well, just to clarify, iPhones work fine with Sync and MFT on the F-150, the system just can't read texts from them.

I have a 2013 F150 and I have an iPhone 5 and it has worked great for me. I have received text messages through sync. I have not tried to have it read the text to me yet. I will have to try that.

I know that my Galaxy Note worked with this feature through Sync, but it doesn't on my iPhone!

iPhone wont work until Apple releases the Blue-tooth MAP(Message Access Protocol) on the iPhone. It is capable of supporting it but Apple did not enable it in iOS 6.0.2. I have my fingers crossed for iOS 6.1 which is currently in BETA testing.
