Anyone else having these problems?

Thanks!
I can (and have) repeated this problem. When I have the USB loaded (USB 1or USB2) and remove it while sync is off, the AUX will default to AM/FM and get stuck in a loop. Once I put the UBS device back into the unit, it breaks the cycle and returns to normal.

The recent SYNC 3.2.2 update "fixes" the original problem described in Post #1 for 2011 F150s. I write "fixes" because it makes the behavior occur less often, but as I found out yesterday, the problem still exists.

Winning. Add my truck. I drove to work this morning without USB music and found that SYNC evidently slept in. No matter how I tried. At one point I got her to acknowledge me, and when I said, USB2, she did nothing more and wouldn't respond afterwards.

Once at work, I shut off the truck and then inserted a USB and tried it again with no responses at all. So I guess we'll see if she awakens for the drive home today. I updated to 3.2.2 and have been using USB2 without problems .. until.. now.

My 2011 XLT does the same thing. When I picked it up new SYNC wouldn't go on as the salesman attempted to show me how it worked. Dealer fixed by rebooting, then every few months it stops working. It has been a "module" twice and the rest are dealer upgrades that you cannot perform yourself. I have contacted Ford as my warranty is about to expire. I'm sure this will be expensive to fix every so often. The most annoying is when you're on the road and realise it isn't working when you want to make a call.

This may or may not affect someones issue but I gave my sister a ride the other day and she wanted to plug her iPod in. she had some aftermarket USB cord that she bought that went into a cigarette lighter power plug and a fm transmitter so she could play it through the radio in her car. Needless to say when I plugged it into sync it would not charge or connect. I happened to have an old iPod cord in my console from back when I used it with sync (had too many issues so I upgraded to a flash drive and no more problems) tried that cord and it worked. Her cord worked with her fm transmitter but not with sync, so some of you apple people with problems double check you have an apple cord, might help a little!

You guys with 2011's, and these symptoms may want to read this thread:

SYNC (possibly) Fixed by TSB 11-10-22. TSB 11-10-22 is a dealer applied update to the ACM.

I was having problems with SYNC locking up, nonfunctional steering wheel controls, or phone not connecting everytime I left a USB data stick plugged in. SYNC would become functional by removing and reinstalling the data stick, restarting the truck, or sometimes pushing the OK button on the steering wheel. All is well now with my truck after this TSB.

My 2011 had these problems and updating to Sync v3.2.2 did not fix it at all. However TSB 11-10-22 (which is an update to the ACM [audio control module]) totally solved the problems as long as I had the truck. Now I have a 2012 and haven't seen the problems.

I'm convinced sync is just a big piece of ****. The thing doesn't recognize my voice or it does, it plays through blue tooth audio-but won't display song information, or doesn't work at all. Dealer solution? Bring it in there's an update . Okay. Problem still exsists. Works with USB , won't work at all, calls wrong number, dealer solution? Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. Problem still there. Dealer? Bring it in there's an update. Try rhe self update with usb flash drive and it says theres no media on it when i can plainly see it on my computer. For something that is supposed to be convenient it sure is a pain in the ***. My f150 might turn into a silverado at midnight.

That sucks, sync is awesome though, get the tsb if it applies, make sure your flash drive is formatted fat32 and that should fix most of your issues.

^this

fixed mine.
IT IS NOT A SYNC UPDATE WHICH FIXES THIS PROBLEM!
It is an audio control module (ACM) which needs to be reprogrammed. You need to tell the dealer exactly what is occurring and reference the TSB as stated, as some dealers will play dumb.
Not saying yours will be, but mine has been flawless since the ACM update.
Thank you again to Theocoog for his original reference to the TSB in question.
