Hey everyone!

I just wanted to jump in and clairify some information.

SYNC is free for the life of the vehicle for making hands-free calls and using voice commands for media.

SYNC Services is a subscription that allows you to obtain turn-by-turn directions, traffic alerts, news, sports scores, and my personal favorite, the daily horoscope.

This is available on all 3 SYNC system. Check out the details here:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...-overview-sync

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch

Certain models came with a complementary 3-year subscription.

If you're not sure if you have one, shoot me a PM with your VIN and I'll take a look.

It's not that it doesn't work because I am not subscribed, the button doesn't work for anything even making a phone call. Since the original post it hasn't acted up, but sure enough it will right when I am heading out somewhere and need to make a phone call.

On top of that the truck did the shuttering and loss of power while driving in the rain three times in a matter of an hour. Luckily for the Torque app, it showed cylinders 4, 5 and 6 all misfiring. Needless to say it's going in the shop again, on Tuesday. Now I just need to find the TSB for the shutter and take it in with me.

Thanks! I will give that a try and see if it doesn't fix the issue.

This happens to me sometimes, where the steering wheel buttons don't respond. But what always fixes it for me is simply disconnecting my phone from the truck (if in USB mode), or restarting my phone (complete turn off and on). Maybe a few minutes to boot up again if the latter, but it never fails to fix things (so far anyway).

I have taken it to the dealership for this once and they told me to bring it back when it wasn't working. So I took it in several weeks ago when it wasn't working and they couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. So they ran a few electrical tests on it and found nothing.

Now they are telling me to bring it back in when it isn't working again to they can call Ford engineering and work with them on it. The only problem with this, is I don't just go and drive my truck for the hell of it. I am usually going somewhere when I do drive it. I told them this and they said well that's all we can do. Not to mention the dealer is approx 15-20 miles away from where I live, so to take it there when it isn't working the next time is more than likely going to be a little out of the way.

Anyone else have this issue with the steering wheel sync button?
Yes, I have had this happen in my 2010, albeit with the much more rudimentary version of Sync. I find my volume button works fine, but the voice command button and also phone and search (arrow) button doesn't work either.

It usually only lasts a few minutes. I have not found a definitive way to get it working again, but it always does.

If I can offer you any comfort, at least you're not alone.

Thanks! It's good to know I'm not the only one having the issue then.

i havent had that issue but I have buttons that do the wrong thing sometimes... change the channel, it changes the input...change the volume it changes the channel.. channel up I get channel down. of course it never does it for long, I thought I was just fat fingering things sometimes but Ive ruled that out for 99% of the times it happens

Sorry about that SYNC Services post, dustin8201. It was intended for a different thread.

If the system will allow you to do a master reset, like Kirban67 mentioned, I recommend it. Here are the instructions:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch

Your dealership will be able to address the other concerns at your appointment.

Hey, E-Town F150 -

Have you checked your SYNC owner account for an available update?

If not, PM your VIN, and I'll take a look.

Hi, dsg2003mach1 -

Have you been to your dealership about this yet?
