Sync 4.4 update issues

Angry Sync 4.4 update issues

I can not seem to do the 4.3 to 4.4 update. I downloaded the update and unziped it to the usb stick as per the instructions. When I start the update it just sits there saying "Installing Application". No other messages. No reboot. Nothing. I let it sit there with the truck running for over an hour. I finally got sick of waiting and shut the truck off and went to sleep. Tried it again the next day. When I go to the menu and select Install Application it says " Installing Application" (even with out the USB plugged in). Same result as last time.

I have tried doing the factory reset and master reset. I have also tried several USB sticks. The sync system still works fine otherwise.

Any ideas?

Lets try and keep all of this in one thread, so it is easier to Find. It just makes it easier on everyone. Sorry though, I have no clue how to help you.

I tried to figure it out as well. I'm not sure which version I have or when the latest version was released.

I tried updating mine as well, I thought I had it but it keeps jumping to the phone sync screen while updating and freezes there. Then I have to pull the fuze to reset it since nothing sync related works otherwise.

Default 4.4 up date

I have the same problem played all my music on a usb stick got the new up date now it will not except the stick it says no usb play's I pod no problem but does not work with Microsoft and funny the system is Microsoft system tried to reformat the stick to FAT32 and still does not work but does work on the old system tried it on different trucks on dealer lot. dealer called ford and ford basically said to bad that is how the new system works!!

If you log into your Owner account at Owner.Ford.Com and click on the SYNC & HOW-TOS tab, then CHECK FOR SYNC UPDATE. It should tell you which version you currently have and allow you to download the 4.4 update if it's available for your truck. Version 4.4 just came out in March.

Is your USB formatted to FAT32, bluedsteel?

This can happen when one or more songs is no longer compatible with SYNC. Try our SYNC My iTunes program to check and correct your metadata. You can get to it in your Owner account under the SYNC & HOW-TOS tab, then clicking on CHECK FOR SYNC UPDATES.

Default Same Problem HELP ME

I downloaded the new update and followed the install instructions, but it just stays at the installing updated screen I let it sit for and hour and nothing happened. not even the first install complete audio.

I call Ford for help and the lady I talked to said she didn't know why I had a problem and to just wait for the next update.

HELP ME PLEASE.

Why are you guys updating to 4.4 when the vast majority of people are having issues with it????
