Ok.. So I just finished programming the APIM after doing a full-backup of all modules.. Overall things look good -- all my controls appear to be behaving -- unlike before the programming where radio presets were DOA and AC controls didn't work, etc..

However, here's what Forscan is showing for DTC's w/ just the APIM Module :

B119F (GPS Antenna) - ok -- might have to get a better one! lol
B11BA Circuit Voltage out of range (perhaps transient -- the truck was complaining as it hadn't been driven in a while and perhaps the battery voltage was low)
U0121 (Lost Comm w/ ABS)
U0140 (Lost Comm w/ Body CM)
U0151 (Lost Comm w/ Restraints CM)
U0155 (Lost Comm w/ IPC CM)
U0256 (Lost Comm w/ Front Controls Interface Module)
U0452 (Invalid data received from Restraints control module)
U3003 (Battery Voltage below threshold)

At other times I regularly see these lost comm messages throughout the vehicle and notice zero issues with it aside from ForScan showing me the codes. I've got a few other modules complaining (e.g. U0140 - HVAC complaining about Body CM), U0256 - ACM complaining about lost comm to front controls module A.

I tried a manual reset of the APIM but it didn't seem to change anything. thoughts??

Have you reset/clear the DTC's to see if they come back? I know if the voltage drops on battery you can get all sorts of weird DTC's.

I just reset the one module -- does that not clear the DTC's? I guess I figured it did - but perhaps I'm wrong.

Also -- before I updated the APIM the screen as it came to me, it had a black background, but upon writing the updates above, now I have the default light blue background.. I looked through the Forscan spreadsheet but didn't find anything that controlled that setting.. If you happen to know how to set the background screen color to something other than the default light blue, I'd love to know. Thanks!

No you must reset the Dtc's in forscan. Completely different than resetting a module.

aaah.. Ok.. I'm downloading the Sync 3 version 3 update right now .. Maybe a good time for a bit of a drive while it updates and good to do the DTC reset.

One stupid question.. I bought a cable from 4DTech for the USB Hub and it was the wrong part.. The connector won't even remotely come close to plugging into the truck harness.. I guess I'll return it -- I think I saw somewhere that somebody was fabbing replacement cables.. I guess I'll look into that.

I did not use there cable. I got a USB port out of a wrecked truck and cut wires and left plug on it. I spliced into truck wiring, was only 2 wires.

I have not updated to Version 3 yet as some people said it causes issues. I will try it soon to see.

Is it safe to assume that those two wires are only for lighting the USB Hub? I gather that the new hub lights up? Right now I'm gonna try doing the update but don't have that part of the hub connected.. I guess I'll find out one way or another.

I think it also adds power to the USB port. I seem to remember that it did not work until I put power to it.
