Below are my forscan changes from the conversion to Sync 2 to Sync 3. Everything works great after allot of trial and error. Hopefully this will help some of you when making the change. I am pretty sure I typed everything correct but if you encounter an error let me know. Also write each block at a time do not try to do them all at once.

Thanks for the pics -- so just to point out... The notch on the left side bracket is on the bottom and on the right side bracket is on the top.

When you say "write each block", how far do you have to go with saving before going to the next one? Just the Write process, or back out further between blocks?

ok.. I did this but the holes just don't line up for my display (from an Escape) unless I start tapping new holes in the case.. I can put the mounts on but the bracket is in the wrong place -- too high.. Ugg..

Is it the case that the "case" on the Sync 3 displays are different in terms of mounting holes? I'm clueless on this..

That is what the section of Recessed vs Standard mounts are in his first post. Our trucks need the recessed, but most vehicles have the standard. Recommend you drill holes in the brackets rather than in the screen body.

I have already drilled holes in the brackets -- per the above screenshots -- but did it before checking to see how it would play with my screen. I had already drilled a hole yesterday in each of the brackets but not the notch.. I did the notches today.. I'll probably go play with it some more.. What concerns me more is that it seemed like mine was a bit too wide to fit the pins in the two holes in the dash plastic. I'd rather not drill those holes out in the dash as well as nobody else indicated the need to do that. I did grind down the nubs on the Sync 2 brackets so they're flush now and perhaps that will make the difference..

The above pictures that I posted was from the mounts that came off the sync 2 screen. You drill one hole and slot the other hole that is already there. The little dimples that are on the brackets lined up with the indention on the sync 3 screen. It took me all of 15 minutes to mod and mount the brackets. Those pins you speak of you could cut off. As long as you have the holes to put the screws into on both sides it want go anywhere.

I apologize I meant to get more pics and got distracted..... And it was a pita to remove my console etc. or I would get more pics.

Block 1
7D0-01-01 AA21 0403 02AD (Change your info in each line here then write) * You can enter both lines changes then write that block only.
7D0-01-02 0A89 0050 0AC7

Afterwards move to Block 2. It may work by entering data to all blocks then hit write all but I kept having issues trying that.
* I can post my APIM backup later this week and you can write it that way if you prefer *
