Pick a good quality hitch. Probably a forged 12,000lb with 4" drop flipped upside down would be good
a ball would not be allowed it's a giant hook you need something that looks like this.

or a clevis a larger clevis I think our's is a 5 inch clevis bolted threw an hitch with adjustable heights
official size is 3.75 inches or bigger

How are clevis measured? The only ones I find say 3/8, 5/8, 7/8. They don't say 3.75 inch on the spec sheet.

Try searching on Ebay for "clevis". You can also use the term "shackle" which I believe is more correct.
