Default Removing Tail Gate Pole

I thought I would share some steps and pictures when removing the tail gate pole and replacing with panel. It is fairly simple. You will need the panel (Part # 9L3Z-9943121-A) and eight (8) new screws (Part # W710734-S439).

Step 1 – Remove Pole and plastic tail gate cover.

Step 2 - Remove Pole holder

Step 3 – Remove two plugs by pushing up from bottom while pushing outer ring from top. Do not cut this tab off, it will be reused when you reinstall.

Step 4 – Trim two hump tabs off with Sharpe knife (not same as above) so panel lays flat

Step 5 – Screw new panel in place with eight new screws

Step 6 – Go to LineX

Just curious though could you put the normal non-pole plastic cover on?

You mean like a bed liner, that is similar to what is around the pole from factor.

I would have traded my white gate for yours. But then again I might not like the bump on the gate the pole creates.
