I dont know about any of the warranty, but I added this on my truck: http://accessories.ford.com/vehicles...ote-start.html and it works seamless with the truck. I have the one with the new keys with the extra button. Just my .02

I don't think so since it's a ford part. I added it to my truck and really like it.

I went to Best Buy and got the 1 way remote start, with door lock. It replaces the factory fob. it works great and has a long range. I think it was about $325 installed.

Do you have a link or a part # to the one you got? I've been in there a couple times and the cheapest I've found is $475 range installed.

I have the viper 5901 and I love it. Has a LCD screen. I believe the range is like half a mile to a mile. I also added the smart start. I can start my car from any range. There's no limit

Why buy an aftermarket when the Ford one is only around $220 and has a 1000 ft range?

Plus $250 install. Im pretty confident doing my own mods but anything more complex than a stereo when it comes to electronics, id rather let a pro do it.

It doesn't cost that much to install in the 2011's. They are plug and play. Only takes a half hour at the most for an average person to do.
