Default Problems refueling with capless fuel

So I've had my 2012 truck a year and had a first today. The gas nozzle would not open the capless cover in fuel pipe. It was wierd. I thought I picked up the diesel nozzle at first, but when I looked, the gas nozzle tapered in at the front so it was thinner than the rest of the normal thickness of the nozzle. It didn't depress the tabs to open the automatic fuel cap. After some messing around with it, I finally got it to actuate. The nozzle looked like it was brand new, hopefully the design hasn't changed and we're going to have trouble in the future. anyone else ever have a problem?

Haven't had any problems myself, but I have only filled it up 4 times so far.

I have had problems with mine every so often. Have to actuate with the fuel funnel a few times and it lets me finally use the pump.

45,000 miles on a 13 and not a hint of a problem with anything on the truck except bad speakers.

I had this happen the other day also. After messing about for a minute I noticed the spout on the fuel pump was bent slightly. I turned the handle a touch and it worked. My advice if you have this problem is to try and turn the handle.

Only had it happen the first time I ever filled up my truck....the nozzle on this pump looked like it had been damaged at one point and they replaced the tip with a thinner piece of tubing. I can't remember how I got it in, but I fiddled with it a while till I got it in.

Check out the first post in this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/showthread...hlight=capless

The link in the first post shows how the reverse cap works and why the fuel nozzle is important.
