Please do! I'm interested as well! I wonder if I could rig this up to my Ford fiberglass tonneau or not. I'll have to look into it.

hey if you have the time and want to rig one up yourself, go for it. Otherwise, the www.dynolock.com is pretty easy to install. I've had mine along with my Bakflip cover for almost 2 years now, works great.

Frankly, I was shocked when I found out the tailgate DIDN'T have a power-lock feature....another, "Ford...are you KIDDING me?" moment. Not to go off on a rant here, but think about it: This would cost Ford about $12 to do, they could/would charge $100 for it or include it in an upgrade package, and it would be just another 'selling point' for the vehicle.
But nooooooooooooooooo. You can spend $45K +/- $10K on these things and then have to go find an aftermarket solution.

Friggin' insane, man.

I got all the parts and attempted this mod this morning. My actuator is installed in the tailgate, and my wires/loom are ran to inside the cab.

My problem/situation is that I cant locate the ANY of the same colored wires on my 2010 Lariat that you guys listed here, or in any of the other 3 threads I found. I even searched aftermarket kits instructions, and couldn't find their listed wires either.

Has anyone done this on a 2010? Any help/advice would greatly be appreciated.

Default Pace-Edwards with back up camera

FYI the Pace-Edwards auto tailgate lock is not recommended with tailgates equipped with OEM back pup camera installed in the t/gate.

I installed my actuator on my 2010 last week. Actuator was easy and running wire was easy. With much investigation I found the proper wires to use they are located on both driver and passenger sides under the sill plate. Use wires Grey (black stipe) and light blue (light green stripe). Hook them up either way and test. If they are installed backwards then your lock and unlock will be backwards on your remote. If so just reverse to proper way. Way easier than I was making it. I was trying to follow the wires in the doors and meter them. It turned out awesome and is a very good mod.

Why not the pace edwards? Would it hold true for all auto lock/unlock modules or is there something special about this one?

I'm looking at these but I have a backup camera... would hate to break it all down only to mess up that camera. Has anyone had success installing this on a tailgate with a camera?
