I'm looking at these but I have a backup camera... would hate to break it all down only to mess up that camera. Has anyone had success installing this on a tailgate with a camera?
Don't buy the pace edwards power lock. I just bought a 12v actuator on ebay for 9 dollars. Installed it and wired it up. Very easy. I mounted the actuator parallel to the plastic mechanism that the key lock turns. I used 2" number 4 screws with nuts as spacers to drop the actuator the proper distance from the metal, inline with the mechanism. Four tie raps to the mechanism with the actuator rod and wired. I have a camera on my truck and there is no way that the actuator would do anything to the camera. It is no way near the camea.

Hook them up either way and test. If they are installed backwards then your lock and unlock will be backwards on your remote. If so just reverse to proper way. Way easier than I was making it. I was trying to follow the wires in the doors and meter them. It turned out awesome and is a very good mod.
Thanks a ton fireman79! I finally had some more time and found the wires very easily under the front PASSENGER sill after your post. As soon as I pulled the sill off, BOTH wires were right there on top. I only found the light blue(light green stripe) on the driver side.

I tested them, and then re-routed the wire/loom that I already had to the driver side. This was so stinking easy AFTER I found the wires. Thanks again.

I can't wait to get outside and look for those two wires!! I've been probing wires for an hour and a half (since the Pop & Lock instructions say Pink/Black & Pink/Orange, which don't seem to exist!)... If only it wasn't 27 degrees and if only my bosses thought it was ok for me to waste more time playing with my new truck...

May have missed it if someone posted it, but has anyone installed the actuator on a TG with the sissy step!? Did it cause any clearance or mounting problems...I have the actuator and wiring ready to install and it looks like the plastic/rubber cover comes off easily after the flip up rod is removed....is that the case!?

Default 2011 wiring color

Guys I installed the acuator and wires to my rear pass door. Took the panel of and saw 4 wires to power door lock. 2 solid and 2 that were striped. Hook up the wires from the acuator to the the 2 striped wires from the power locks and it didn't work.also looked on the floor panel on rear pass door the 2 solid wires from the power door locks were not there....can anyone who installed this on 2011 xlt screw help me please...I don't want to cut anymore wires. Also look on driver side panel and I don't have the same colors people have mentioned here. I'm screwed!

The wires your looking for are under the front passenger step plate. I have a write up on this as do a few others. I have the same truck. Here the link to the complete install and pic with the wire colour I used.

the plastic comes off really easily. you don't technically have to take off the rod... just lift the plastic over it when extended.

I have all the wires ran, actuator installed, all pretty much ready to go. But I have been putting off finishing it due to the fussing with the wires on the 2011. Wish it were a bit easier, why would there be so many wires with the same colors that don't all do the same thing? I really don't want to poke a bunch of holes in wires and mess with all that.

Well I got the nerve to tackle this project over the weekend. Got my home built actuator kit working like a champ! Excellent addition to my new truck!
