Default Paint the Bumper or Replace the Bumper

I went out to hand wash my truck today (not something I do often) and ended up spraying an area of my front bumper where the paint apparently had begun to bubble. Needless to say I now have a large bald spot.

I figure I have a few options, the most appealing is to take advantage of the situation and replacement the front bumper with something aftermarket, but which one??

Maybe take it the whole 9 yards and replace the grill with a Paramount one and finally replace the front headlights with those of an FX (already did the tails.)

I figure if I can get a good deal on a bumper that is already black it would come out close-ish to what it would cost to have this old one painted. Obviously adding in the grille and headlights is extra, but the truck only has about 80,000 so I don't mind putting some money into it.

Thoughts? Links? Photos?

hate painted bumpers, that is why I went with XLT and added factory flares and FX4 rims. 2013 Supercrew 4wd 302a with bucket seats and console. if anything I would go with a aftermarket real bumper.

I'm not a fan of chrome (unless black chrome) so I definitely want whatever I do to be black. Is the chrome ones what you're referring to as a real bumper? I have the older style FX4 wheels with stock tires, so I can't get away with getting some huge Iron Cross front bumper as I don't think it would look right. Still surfing the web to see what I find.

I just recently got my front bumper done with premium line x and am very happy with how it turned out.

That looks really good! I've started to lean towards just getting it painted, how much did it cost to paint the bumper with lineX? All the aftermarket bumpers I've come across aren't my style.

I'm thinking about doing all the front end (and other) things I've been wanting to do; FX grille, headlights, paint bumper and new running boards.

I paid $350 Canadian for the premium line x with UV protective coating. Now I never have to worry about it chipping and rusting.

Paint it with Rustoleum hammer finish out of can. I bought new primed steel bumpers to replace the chrome ones on one of my trucks and did just that. I used a can per bumper. The job cost me about 15 bucks.

Do you have a photo of the painted bumpers?

I don't for that truck. I took pics of the whole process, but can't find them. I used black. It's not a F150, though.

Here is a close up of the same paint in silver on my 77.

That looks good, my better half suggested painting it myself as well. Of course if I do that, I don't think I can convince her to let me get a new grille and FX headlights - good thing she doesn't use the forums.
