Default Odd towing Message?

I get this really random message on my 2011 xtr. It will randomly at startup say trailer not connected and ask for an ok to clear. A couple times it has said trailer connected and asked for an ok to clear. This never happens when I'm towing or even close to a time that I have been towing. Just random. The dealer has no clue. Anyone know anything about this?

Not sure what causes it, but my 2011 f250 6.7 does it every now and then... Never had it happen on my 150 though

Check your trailer plug and see if something is in there joining the pins or contacts. Blow some compressed air in there to clean it out.

I have the same thing happen with mine (2011 fx4 eco) a few times. I thought I was accidentally hitting the tow button on the shifter but this makes me wonder

Have had this happen while driving in the rain on my 09. It pops up a message saying trailer wiring fault or something to that effect. I've just lived with it since we don't seem to get much rain lately

You might want to try some dielectric grease in the connector. That will keep any water out of there.

I think it's a problem with the flap itself, just haven't had time to give it much attention

I get the trailer wiring fault (whatever it is) in my message center in my 09 ford. I have looked at the plug in the back of the connector and di-electric greased it, but no luck.

XtraLargeTall- What do you mean it may have to due with the flap itself? I would really like to fix this message from popping up?

Had this happen to me once too, at the very least made me check that the trailer was still following me. :P
