Never use Sync or Bluetooth.
I use bluetooth for music streaming. Every time i start up my truck I use the voice commands and say "Bluetooth Audio" or something like that and I starts streaming automatically.

Well I updated the SYNC on my 2012. On the plus side my Bluetooth now shows the Artist and Song title as it never did before. On the down side voice command doesn't recognize my USB2 input all it does is provide a power supply to charge my iPhone. If I can figure out how to revert back I will; I want my USB2 to function as an input device.
Hey everyone!
I just want to jump in with a helpful link to get those of you started on your journey to using and loving SYNC. By using SYNC, you'll enjoy tons of great features and it's all hands-free. Head over to this link, select which SYNC system you have, and you'll be provided with information on all of the features, voice commands, and more:

Use it everytime I get in the truck. Voice commands will download a Mapquest address that you set online so you don't have to type it into the truck screen itself. That alone is SUPER helpful.
Austin is a completely hands free city, so you can't even have your phone in your hand without being issued a ticket. I have 30+ phone calls a day for work and have to be available to answer. I couldn't legally do it if I didn't have bluetooth.
I have yet to have it not understand me or have any issues finding anything I wanted, playing a song I wanted, dialing a contact, or simply changing the Sirius station. It is very helpful.

I've used sync before, had it in my other two trucks. Just don't understand why it is safer to use a telephone system where you have to hit buttons, talk into the truck radio and allow your passengers to hear every word. I have been using a telephone for over 60 years and it is automatic and instinctive. Sync is not. Don't understand hands free BS. Now texting is a different story, very dangerous. Anyway this is the first truck I am not using it and I don't plan on starting.
If you learned how to use a telephone, you can learn how to hit a button and say "call XXX". Or hit a single button to answer your phone. Its pretty simple.
If you dont want other to hear your conversation then dont answer the phone.
