Never use Sync or Bluetooth.
I've used sync before, had it in my other two trucks. Just don't understand why it is safer to use a telephone system where you have to hit buttons, talk into the truck radio and allow your passengers to hear every word. I have been using a telephone for over 60 years and it is automatic and instinctive. Sync is not. Don't understand hands free BS. Now texting is a different story, very dangerous. Anyway this is the first truck I am not using it and I don't plan on starting.
can I have your Bluetooth module? it's a little box under the driver seat.
My wife and son Ltao when SYNC doesn't understand. I end up yelling and calling Madam SYNC voice all kinds of vile names. Otherwise, I like being able to answer a call, or have a text message read to me so I know if I need to pull over and answer it.
SYNC works fine for me. Main uses are phone calls, text messages, and sometimes streaming music.
I use navigation a fair amount too, but that's where it starts to really show how limited it is with regards to "ease of use" and understanding words (ie: street names) that might not be spelled exactly how they sound.
I'm still waiting on the navigation system to just be as simple as Google Maps ... where you just say "Take me to <insert location here>" and it is smart enough to figure it out and ask if that's where you wanna go. This whole business of "20 questions" for it to figure out where you want to go is ridiculous ... The current navigation interface for setting a destination is so archaic it's ridiculous. That said, it DOES work. Just be prepared to work with the dang thing to figure it out. A LOT of times I have to use Google Maps on my phone to find the nearest intersection and alternate street names (ie: if it's a highway, say, hwy 61, but also named "Airline Highway", I need to know that because SYNC might not recognize the road as either/or both of those names) ...
