Haven't gotten it installed yet. Bigger tires going on on Monday.

But it's known to be one of the easiest ways to calibrate the speedo to a non ford size.

First time I've read that the battery fix is only temporary. All other posts I've read have had the fix working for several months and thousands of miles.

Did yours actually revert back after doing the battery fix, or are you just making an assumption that it will not last? Why would you have to pull a car over during a trip to do this? If needed, it could be done while refueling, etc.

I'd really like to know how long your battery fix worked or if you really even tried it.

I have a 2013 Screw 5.0 with 2,700 miles on it and I am having the same described navigation problems. The truck is completely stock. At times the nav screen will show the location off by nearly one city block. It is nearly always showing off to the right side of the truck. It also is always showing the location too far forward so when you have the system routing an address, it is constantly try to re-route because it thinks you have passed the suggested route. I have had the truck into the dealer and they could not duplicate the problem. I hope Ford comes up with a fix soon.

No assumptions here bud. I'm special I guess. Good luck with your battery fix. Don't you think if it was that easy that there would be so much talk here and Ford would issue a TSB on it.

It worked for about 24 hours, enough time for the tires to makes an impact on true position. It progresses and gets worse with time. you can just pull the fuse instead of the.neg cable, tried both with the same result. I'll give the cable pull another shot if it'll make you happy, :P.

Take pictures of the screen when it happens. Then email them to your service manager. Not that it will help him because they are usually not the brightest, but it gives them a talking point with the "engineers" that are.

Same here. This is the first time I have heard that it has reverted back. Mine has been good for over a month and the guy who posted it originally had been several months.

windzurfer, as I said in my post, yours is the first I've read about the battery fix not working. If it reverts back after just 24 hours, that is a first that I've read about also.

Sorry the simple fix hasn't worked for you, but there are others who have had no additional problems after doing the simple battery disconnect. Every post I've read which resolved the problem was done by pulling the negative battery cable.

I haven't heard of anyone just pulling the fuse. Perhaps voltage or current is still being applied to something which doesn't allow the "fix" to take place.

Regardless, I hope you are able to get the problem fixed by the dealer since the battery method isn't working for you.

Me too. With the larger tires I'm actually surprised the Ford stealership can't fix it. Seems like it should just be a correction in the software for the tire size.

For the record, when I start.the truck in the morning the nav is accurate for the first 2-5 miles, then gets further further away from the true position and it's always lagging where I'm actually at. So that makes me think the larger tires are causing the nav to under shoot, think about it...The speedo shows going slower than actual because of larger tires so the nav will get further and further behind. Very poor design by ford but I guess it is what it is.

After 22k on the stock Bridgestones, about half tread, I'm starting to have the issues also on my '13 Platinum. Starts out fine, the farther I drive without turning the worse it gets. Makes since, but ridiculous that lost tread throws it off.

Some other random symptoms that might not be related, the ambient LEDs keep reverting to the light blue. Also the MFT has turned off and gone into battery conserve mode 10-20 seconds after turning the key off a hand full of times.
