Just got my ez down tailgate shock and put it on. Biggest piece of crap! It pinches your tailgate cable and rubs your taillight abd catches it on the way down. The clip for the shock rubs the mount when the tailgate goes up and bends. It fell off after the 6th time using it. Thpught it would be a cool mod but save your money!

Not to be a dick, but you may not have installed it correctly. I put mine on a few months ago and it has worked great.

Only probably I have is that I've gotten too used to having it on mine and have dropped my friends tailgate multiple times expecting it to catch itself

You have to really make sure that foam piece is on and in the proper place or it will do exactly as you say. People have used extra washers to shim out the top mount so they didn't have to use the foam.

I agree, that clip needs to be thicker as mine also bent a little. I just bent it back and used zip ties to support it and it has been solid ever since.

Overall, not bad for $30 IMO.

Too bad you didn't figure out how to install them correctly. Then you wouldn't have called something that works well for many JUNK.

There are posts on the subject that would help you reverse your syndrome and opinion.

Figure out how to install correctly? Hellen keller could install one of these things. You line the foam piece up with the bottom of the shock so it doesnt rub. It worked fine the first few times then the metal bracket bent. If they put some thought into thi and made the bracket that takes all the pressure when you put the tailgate up it would be a much better setup. What good is this thing if the bracket bends after ten times lifting the tailgate

No foam is used - no bracket has gotten bent. Use search to find the post on how to install it with washers to space it out correctly and it works fine.
