Default Ipod and Sync

Grettings all...
I was wondering about the sync system paired with the 5th Gen Ipod Classic. When I plug my 5th Gen Ipod Classic up to the sync system it gives a pretty Ford logo and works pretty seemlessly with all the music on my ipod. The reverse happens with my Ipod Touch, it barley works and is not as seemless. The question I have is it the software or firmware of the of the Touch and also does anyone have the new 6 gen classic with the sync?

What OS are you running on your iPod Touch? If worse comes to worst, I'd use BlueTooth and pair the iPod Touch with the Sync console, then play music from there. You will likely lose track titles (it will say "Bluetooth Stream" or something like that), but it should work as an alternative.

OS 4.1 has been problematic. 4.2 is due for release later this month. I installed a developer-only gold master release of 4.2 on my iphone before I bought my truck last week and have had no issues. It's an apple issue, their 4.1 update broke a lot of car sync functionality.

+1 on iOS 4.2. It should be out really soon now, and unless you are concerned with jailbreaking, you should upgrade to it once it is released.

I have an iphone running 4.1 and it makes me hate SYNC. Volume too low, bluetooth sucks, phone volume sucks, and then to top it all off, USB AUX direct line in locks up and won't play at all.

Had to pull the fuse to reset it, now I don't bother.

Bluetooth audio stream is nice and awesome! However, you lose significant signal quality compared to using the USB input. $.02

i really hope this is the case

4.1 added a few better bluetooth features, but the USB functionality skips a lot

hopefully 4.2 cleans that up

It should really make you hate Apple. It's an issue with the 4.1 update, not an issue with sync. It's affecting vehicle interfaces across all platforms.

Thanks for all the great reply's, I agree with you all that it is a software or firmware issue with Apple. It seems like the Classic works the best with sync, it also might be one of those Apple vs PC things once again, why oh why do they do this to consumers?
