I have a 2014 3.7L STX, my check engine light flashed after accelerating hard on the highway last night., this is the third time this has happened after buying the truck a few weeks ago, this time it stayed on.. I check it this morning at my local Advance Auto Parts. Came back p0300,p0301, and p0305. I figured it has almost 62k on it maybe the plugs need changed. And changed the Upper plenum gasket too.. As I finished up changing plugs and the coils all looked fine.My Sct X4 showed up so I check to see if the codes where still there, which it didn’t so I took the truck for a drive.. Got around 50-60 the check engine light flashed and stayed on again.. Went home erased the same codes, and proceeded to put the can tune in..took it around the block did the same thing, only this time smelled like something is burning on the truck.. Codes came back same codes, along with a p1635 code which I think had to do with changing the tire size cause I have 285/85/18 tires, I erased them. And swapped my coils between 4 and 5. Took a drive, CEL flashed and stayed on again, checked it still shows cyl 5 misfire. I bought a new coil and put it in. Made no difference.. I am lost.... I need help
You may have figured out why the truck was being sold. Were those tires on the truck when you purchased? Was the truck tuned when you purchased it? If not, it doesn't make sense to tune it while having issues IMO because you run the risk of compounding things, making it difficult to narrow down the cause because you introduced a new significant variable. Did you install new coils when you changed the plugs? Your post was unclear. You swapped the coils between 4 and 5, does that mean you used new coils, or just swapped the existing coils between the plugs? If the old coil(s) are the issue, that wouldn't fix anything. IMO, return the truck to stock, install new coils and wires if you haven't already done so and see if the codes return. Unfortunately don't have any advice on the burning smell as there isn't enough info. What does it smell like- burning oil, plastic, rubber? Lastly, IMO your post may receive more views and feedback/ assistance if the title wasn't just Help Me.
P1635 - Tire/Axle Out of Acceptable Range. DTC indicates the tire and axle information contained in the vehicle ID (VID) block does not match the vehicle hardware. Could be caused by incorrect tire size, incorrect axle ratio, incorrect VID configuration parameters.
A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

They said I need new coils, and the p1635 is gone now that I converted it back to stock tire size. I will get that fixed when I get my custom tune from MPT or 5 star. I swapped coils from 4 and 5 to see if the misfire would travel to the new cyl. But it didn't. no worries replacing them all today and see what happens.
Is your speedometer off? If you attempt to adjust for tire size again with the SCT, make sure the axle ratio is correct while you're in the options menu before you flash. This may not have been correct the first time you did it, hence the p1635 DTC. If you're unsure what axle ratio you have, look for the axle sticker on the rear axle, or check the Vehicle Certification Label on the driver's front door. Check the axle ratio code (#8) against the list of codes below for your axle type/ ratio, provided of course the previous owner didn't swap anything out.

Do I need to select the 3.73 (code is 26) or just select stock for axle? Cause I select kept it stock and changed the tire to the spec for the tire difference between stock size and to 285/75/18
579 is what the tire size comparsion calculator (https://tiresize.com/comparison/) put for rev/mil, I set it to 580 in the SCT it doesn't show tire size next to it only the rev/mil number. Stock is 661 for 265/60/18 stock size tires
I replaced the coils.. Still throwing the codes right as the truck goes into 3 gear. I am running the can tune 93.. wonder if I tone it down to 87.. I think something more is going on....
