Now what would be sweet would be a camera/echo system like just like the rear system which pops up on the same mirror video screen just facing forwards. Perhaps a discreet switch to flip when parking. I would go for this in a heartbeat if it could be done for a reasonable amount. I'm sure it would be possible - not easy but certainly possible. It looks like the company makes all of the equipment.

Do the sensors have to be installed into the bumper covers? Can't they just be hard-mounted to a fixed bracket somewhere else less conspicuous like within the lower grill or even in the thick gap between the bumper and the grill?

I think there are guide lines on how much distance you need off the ground and how far back from other pieces of your car in front of sensor to determine best mounting location.
