Question Front Sensing System

I have a 2010 Platinum. I see that on the 2011 accessories list, Ford now offers a 'Front Sensing System by EchoMaster'. The option goes for $279.00 when placing a factory order.

Does anyone know if this can be ordered 'after the fact' and installed on a 2009 -2010?

I've had my truck for almost one year now and 'STILL' can't judge how close I am when nosing up to an object. I'd really like to have this added.

I was told that I could have it put in at the dealer when I bought mine. I didn't ask the price but I agree, in some of these small parking places around here it would be nice to have the ability to get as close as possible when pulling in. Especially in my garage where I only have inches to spare. I will email my salesman and see if he can tell me what the price would be.

Just buy something like this.

Hook the wire designated for the reverse onto a toggle switch so you can flip it on when you need it. When you trade vehicles it can go with you.

Hmmmm, this might be a good option. I also like the additional LED display they offer.

I just called my dealer's service department a few minutes ago and they're looking into the one Ford offers. We'll see.

For the gararge solution, park it in as far as you want to clear everything then put a tennis ball on some string and hang from ceiling so it just touches your windshield , then when renentering when the ball just touches the windshield you know you are good to go.

I may get one myself. Not to bad for me but my wife is on the short side and has a harder time.

My garage isn't the problem. It's when I'm out and about, parking or pulling into different places. Normally, I always try to back in.

I don't mind making this a permanent addition as I have no plans to sell this truck. Hopefully, it will be my last vehicle.
