Front Sensing System
I bought a fully loaded 2011 Platinum 4X4 and this front sensor system is the only option the truck did not have. I bought it as a Ford accessory item online from Lombard Ford. The cost for the kit was $234.36 and there was a recomended install kit as well for $49.56 so I got it also. I have not installed it yet, as the install is somewhat involved. It requires drilling large holes in the front bumper to place the 4 sensors (The install kit includes the needed hole saw) and running the wiring through the firewall etc.
I'll be interested in seeing where other owners have decided to place their mounting holes on the front of the truck, if anyone has done it or had it done, pictures would be great!

I'm also really interested to see how this looks and hear how well it works once installed.
I'm also mucho curious about the forward-facing camera the 2012 Order Guide says is available on the Raptor. If that works like the rear-facing camera and is integrated into the NAV, that would be too cool.

You can get this which enhances your NAV plus with the optional front camera, you can do better than a sensor which is still hard to judge when inches sometimes count.
Shown in a Ford Edge but works the same in a F150 according to the website

I personally do not have this item nor endorse it just saw it one day when I was researching how to allow the DVD to play when the truck is not in park.

Pretty straightforward but a couple tips. You need to order the 28MM hole saw. It is an odd size and none of my local industrial supply shops had one. I printed up some 30MM "dots" on my computer, cut them out and used them as placeholders to determine where I wanted to drill the holes for the sensors.

The narrow steel band above the black bumpers just fit. I went with the Echomaster factory recommended placement for the the optional outboard sensors (standard kit has only 2 sensors) but you will run into the top of the fog light bracket when you drill through. Just continue drilling then drop out the fog light (all three bolts can be reached from above) and I used a Drimel cutoff to clean up the hole on the plastic bracket.
Placed the on/off switch where is is easy to get to.
Buzzer and control box were mounted inside the console under the radio. Brought the wires in through the grommet above the hood release.
Way it works is when you start the unit comes on for five minutes. You can shut it off manually with the green button. When you are parking and want sensor detection, just press the green button again. Works great. Does have a learning mode so when I install my hitch mounted winch I can "teach" it to ignore it. Check Ebay for the kits, I picked up and open box return for $58 bucks!

I've been interested in the front sensor system myself and called my dealer today.
They quoted me $279 for the sensor kit, $50 for the install kit - and they ballparked installation - since they've never done one before - at $271 labor for a grand total of ~$600 installed.
He did say he estimated it high and it may be less once it's all said and done. Not sure I want the sensors THAT bad though.
I'd really be interested in what others have been told.
