Default The issue that eats up the time...

is figuring out where to drill the holes! If you mount like I did it is easy. Once you have the holes knocked out it the rest could easily be done in a couple hours. With the 28mm hole saw it only takes a couple minutes to drill them out. the sensors all snap into a supplied bracket(s). Everything else clips together, only "wiring" is getting switched power to the unit.

Thanks for posting the install pictures P15-D24, your placement looks great and is exactly where I thought I should drill mine.

So does anyone actually have the factory system or the system that is offered by Ford? I am very interested in getting the system but have a few questions. I have contacted four dealers around me and none have any experience at all with the front sensor system.

Does the front system work like the rear...ie. only while in drive and at lower speeds presumably? It seems stupid for it to work once the truck is in park, but does anyone know for sure? Will it just automatically work while in drive at lower speeds continuously; ie. you are proceeding slowly through a parking lot and stop to let people pass and the sensors detect those people and warn you? Also, are there any additonal switches or buttons or anything that will need to be installed in the interior?

I did get a quote of $279 for the system which is what the website shows. I also want to get skid plates installed while they have my tuck so the labor fees included that, hence I am unsure exactly how much labor would be just for the sensor system. I was quoted by one dealer at just over $1k for the plates, sensors and labor; but I am hesitant to have something permanently installed while not knowing 100% how it operates.

Any additonal insight would be very much appreciated!

Platinum, if you haven't already, check out post #19 in this thread. P15-D24 may answer some of your questions.

Well, he says he used the echomaster recommended install sites but doesn't specify which system he used. The dealers I talked to all said they didn't think there would be any additional switches or anything.

I ordered the Ford accessory kit directly from Ford, and it is made by Echomaster and is exactly the same as P15-D24's kit and installation including the switch. hope this is helpful.

Does anyone know if the sensors could be bought color matched to the truck? I really want this but I don't want black ones, it would bug me, but I will jump all over it if it's sterling grey!
