Quick question, a little off current topic. If I don't have remote start, will the antenna module extend the range of my regular remote keys?

Yes but you have remote start, it's built in, just have to use Forscan to enable it. Changing code in the ICM will net you the adjustable settings for auto climate control etc....

RS can't work if the fob for lock/unlock don't. By adding the antennae module and the longer cable I posted about, all fob buttons enjoy longer range.

I'm sorry, I should have clarified. I don't need the OEM remote start. I have an aftermarket setup with cell phone access that I installed before I found the great plethora of knowledge that is this forum. lol! So since I have it I'd just as soon leave well enough alone. That's why the question about the range of the regular remote keys.

To give an example of the extended range all buttons have look at this pic, bottom left of pic red circle is where I was standing, top right red arrow is where my truck was parked. The building in the way obviously and she fired right up. Have to hit the lock button once and the truck has to get that signal, then when you press rs button twice engine starts.

Ahh ic said the blind man, lol but you still need the antennae module and the longer cable. I'm surprised your aftermarket rs don't auto lock the doors or give the option.

That's pretty impressive. So do think I could expect similar range on my regular keys if I install the antenna module and extension cable?

This is what happens ^^^^^^ when you don't refresh your browser. lol! You miss replies! Yeah, my system is full featured and has all the lock and unlock through the phone interface. But it just that, cell phone based. And unfortunately in my house the cell service sucks, I'm in a fringe area out in the boonies. So for that reason when I'm in the house the phone part of the system is hit or miss. That's the reason I want to extend my range, for starting the truck in my driveway. The phone app works great everywhere else.

LOL. There are factors that come into play with any radio signal based system, for a time my key fobs had really bad range, I had to get within 30' to get the doors to lock/unlock, drove me nutz for weeks then one day boom, my range was back to great and I couldn't figure out why.

My dual channel dash cam/dvr system was creating RFI, found out by accident as I sit there wondering what the hell changed, then I left work and noticed my cams didn't tell me they were leaving park mode and starting normal recording. I had bumped the plug getting out of the truck disabling the cams killing my fob range. Didn't think much about till the next day when I pocket bumped the lock button and my truck honked, I was inside a steel building 200' away.

Was it further back in this thread that you posted about the antenna and harness? I'll have to skim back through. Thanks for all the info!
