Wow, that was a long read start to finish. Haven't found quite what I'm after though. I have a 2010, so I understand there isn't much I can do as far as options. However, the only thing I'd like to change is the AC compressor time but it seems as though that's not possible at this point anyway.

Sooo, on to my original issue. I only have 1 key. I have purchased an original ford PATS key (even has the little color ford logo on it). I was going to take it to a locksmith and pay $50 to program it when I stumbled across this Forscan thread. It looks like I should be able to program it myself with this app since I am pre 11+? Has anyone tried this with a 09-10 truck? Apparently it works with the previous generation truck which also had a GEM like mine. I still have to hit up home depot/lowes and have the blank key cut but I'd really like to have a second master so I can add additional keys in the future. I've got the Bluetooth adapter so this would save me $50 if it works?

I have not enabled auto rear defrost because of all the posts I've read about the backglass issues, I just don't trust it. Don't really need rear defrost now that I've got the cap on anyway....
Good to hear. I had everything set to auto. I am worried about setting defrost to auto for the front windo because if it is covered with snow or ice, the defrost could crack the windshield couldn't it. Of course, mine is already cracked so maybe it doesn't matter. I have read the back glass issues and I also have a cap, so the rear window isn't a problem for me, but it would be nice to defrost the mirrors in the morning.

I do. I did not see the message again today. I'm trying to remember, but I think I only saw it after programming the new keys and remotes.

Anyone know if the Forscan codes are consistent across models?
Was poking around in our 2013 Flex. Got the fogs as DRLs, but want to kill the door ajar & parking brake engaged chimes, and also enable 'Bambi mode'.

Anyone happen to have some values I can try?

If the locksmith has IDS your good to go, 99.9% do not have it and clone keys, they can make a working key but your truck will see the same key when engaged.

The PATS, (passive anti-theft system) needs to see 2 completely different keys in order to allow you to program a new key.

Forscan does not have the option.

Is there a way to do that on the F-150?

So I ordered 2 keys here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
based on another that supposedly had success. I have programmed one to successfully start the truck. But it won't lock or unlock the doors. I swapped batteries with a FOB that works so its not the battery. Am I missing something?

The procedure for programming the key fob and the PATS for starting the truck are different. You didn't say if you tried them both and the fob programming didn't work. You did say you successfully programmed the PATS part for starting the truck, so I'll see if I can find that procedure for the fob programming for you.

Apparently the OEM keys and some aftermarket keys program the remote at the same time as the transponder. Mine did not.
I used forscan to change BCM 726-19-01 from 0047 to 0148 and now my remote start works. Tomorrow I'll change the ICM and see if I can get the remote start menus.
