Default Ball studs

Hey Koolponycar, where did you order the ball studs for the coil covers and what is the part number?? I know we can use socket head bolts, but would prefer to use the correct hardware if available.

Thanks!

Roush Performance for about $1.50 a piece. Heres a link with the phone number and part number. Ask for Brian, but anyone should be able to help you.
Order at leat 7 or 8 in case you drop one and cant find it. Put a towel bunched up next to your manifold in case you drop one. Here's the link:

Got mine finished this morning, using the KoolPonyCar method...

Tips and Learnins
1. Use good hose. Don't get that Chinese crap in a bag from AutoZone, it would rather kink than bend. I got Gates White Stripe at O'Reilly's.
2. The Amazon posts work OK. They stick up about a 1/4 inch, grind 'em down if you care. They don't quite fit the hole naturally. I've heard about tapping the holes first, probably a good idea if you have a tap/die set. If not, a bit of pressure will get them to bite and go in.
3. The stock grey hose clips work fine in the Dorman elbows, so don't fight trying to get them off of the hose barb.
4. I had to get some 3/8 vacuum line to reconnect to the CAI, about 12 inches was plenty to not make the bend too tight.
5. I used #8 black hose clamps from Davad Motor Sport. They fit the hoses without having a bunch of the band sticking out, in fact it helps if you undo them to get on the hose after the Dorman is installed. They do fit, barely. http://shop.davadmotorsports.com/ind...roducts_id=102

SpeedViktm, thanks for posting the pic as I have the Airaid Jr. kit on the way for the CAT, so you verified it works.

I also bought the white line Gates hose, but I also got the Gates PowerGrip SB thermoset hose clamps to build my hoses with the Dorman 90's. If you are unfamiliar with these, they are just like the ones offered by HoseCandy, but much less expensive.....use a heat gun to shrink wrap them tight, even pressure, no cuts in hose like metal, look better, and no cold leaks...know plenty of racers who use them. Will give a report on how well they worked and take pics when done.

Looks good!

SpeedViktm great job! Looks so good. Hey speedtwin32 another great idea using the Gates PowerGRip SB thermoset hose clamps. That really makes this setup perfect. I think I will get around to doing my hoses with those, great idea.

Thanks! I wish I'd known about those before I did it, I don't think I want to take all that shiz apart just to put those on.

Default Got mine done, yay!

Ok, after 3 hours of work, I got it done, whew!

My plan was to use the exact method Koolponycar mapped out, but I ran into a snafu with my left side heater hose...routing behind the A/C line it just would not bend without a kink, and I bought Gates hoses, just wouldn't cooperate......sooo, plan "B".

I decided to run it just like the Mustang lines, only mirror image, direct sweep over the left side fuel rail. So the only thing that changed was I had to clearance the back corner of the cover to make room, and being crafty with the Dremel, no prob, just carved a little at a time until I got it just like I wanted, just enough clearance not to rub, but tight enough that you can't even really tell unless you look very closely.

First pic is my routing for the heater hoses....every thing else was per Koolponycar's method. Next one shows what I trimmed from the cover to clearance my routing. Then you see a close up of the routing with cover installed...as you can see, not really noticeable, just a little more work, if you can route behind A/C line with no kink, it will be quicker and no cutting. And the last pic, all done! And for those going the Airaid route, it is tight, but it does fit at the TB inlet.
