I honestly wish that my xlt had the limited slip instead of the locker. My FX4 gave me no choice lol. The XLT will be my number one to get operating the way I like as it benefits me at work. I am going to try the Raptor way and see what happens.

I hated the open diff./e-locker in my FX4. I swapped it out for a TrueTrac.

I didn't know limited slip was an option except the whole controlled by the breaks.

What's this truetrack thing? How does the original system respond to being unplugged?

Just Google Tru Trac. Its a worm gear torque biasing limited slip. There are lots of youtube videos of how it operates. The truck doesn't care beyond a couple extra dash icons.

Unsure why I'm not feeling the love for Ford's e-locker? I was pleased to pay a measly $85 (invoice) for that feature. I've had a few occasions to use the e-locker in my Nissan Frontier Nismo w/ good results - given the most "hard core" (not actually) terrain I did w/ that truck was Colorado's Alpine Loop over the Engineer and Cinnamon Passes. I can't imagine that Ford's version is inferior to that of the Dana44 variant in my Frontier?

Ok, my new FX4 will never be a hard-core trail machine. Realistically, no full-size rig (incl Raptor) is suitable for tight narrow mountain trails - even if willing to suffer inevitable "desert pin stripes" of which my jeep has plenty. OBTW, my Jeep TJ (predates Rubicon) sports ARBs in combo w/ 4.56 gears and 4.1 t-case...

Nobody here is talking about trail rigs... and we don't all work on paved roads and parking lots. Plus for me at least winter isn't sandals on the beach.
