Backup Light Upgrade
Used my backup camera at night to hook up my trailer for the first time the other day and couldn't see the tongue, so I am glad I ran across this thread. I decided to recess mine though. I spend a lot of time on the road, and I don't want to give anybody any extra reasons to mess with my truck.

I cut two holes in my bumper and installed two of the Cree OCD lights
tapped into the center pin wire and they have been excellent. No problems in any way including driving through a lot of water during duck season. Best mod on my truck so far. You probably could get by with one on the driver side they are so bright, but I back up with boats a lot in the dark so I went for two.
They are a much better buy than the Rigids and I do not buy that they are not good quality as some claim. I like them so much I am going to install two on my Polaris ATV to replace the stock lights. they will provide more light and draw less power than the stock bulbs.

On mine the screw will spin freely without having something to go one the nut in the back. So they would need the bit, ratchet, socket and extender. At that point you have made it no longer an easy opportunity. Of course if they really want it they will get it, but usually people just look for stuff they can just cut off.
I used hex head bolts and nyloc nuts to attach mine. If someone is going to steal them, they're going to work for it
