Default Audio help?

I would like to keep a stock OEM look inside my truck, but I definitely want better sound in there. I would go aftermarket, but I haven't found anything in the way of looking factory. I'd like to get bluetooth audio availability, and don't really care for navigation. I already know which speakers and amps I'm going to get, but I have no idea about head units or anything.

Go with Kenwood and Maestro, retains sync and intigrates nicely!

FWIW I was dead set on replacing the head unit but after adding an amp and Alpine Type R speakers, I no longer felt it was necessary to replace the head unit. YMMV.

Whoops, forgot to mention I also added twin Kicker subs

Agree - went with Polk db571s and feel the same. I may upgrade eventually for better functionality, but as of now its good!

I'd like an upgrade because my truck is very basic. No sync, nothing. I'd like a touch screen, but it doesn't have to be.

I would look at a kenwood. They make a good h/u now with built in Bluetooth audio and USB/iPod . Not so slow like the old ones.

Hey toddman34, do you have to buy any additional special harness to retain sync with a kenwood? I had priced a pioneer head unit and the said I had to buy all these different harnesses to retain sync, factory controls and I don't know what else, for a total of almost 250 for just the wires to hook it up...

But will that kenwood look remotely factory, though?

I had one of these in a 2007 (oviously not the exact one) GMC W/T it was great, I got the backup cam with it.

Kenwood 9990HD is in my car, it looks ok you can change the color of the buttons to match the dash lights.

I'd post pictures, but I can't from my PC or phone mobile/desktop versions, not sure why just won't let me.
