They are called 'alignment cams'. I think it's about $100 for 4 of them - they come 4 to a kit or box.

The 'flaw' on our year group (one of them anyway) is that the control arm pockets are slotted. It doesn't take much to knock the front end out of alignment.

Prior to all the suspension mods on my truck I had the cams installed after 3 trips to the alignment shop. Never had another problem after having the cams installed.

The trucks do NOT come with a kit, and a kit is NOT required to get the camber/caster alignment done properly. All the kit does is make it EASIER to get the camber/caster alignment done.

When I had my leveling kit installed, I had an alignment done (and was there "helping" during the alignment) ... so I saw everything on the alignment computer, and watched/assisted w/ the actual adjustments to the truck.

It really was not that hard to adjust everything w/out the kit ... though I can see how having that kit would be very helpful and make it easier.

Bottom Line: If someone is telling you that they can't do your alignment properly w/out that kit, or that the FX4 is somehow different and needs the kit where other F150's do not ... they are full of horse doo-doo and you need to find someone else to do the alignment.

on the heels of my last post ... if these "kits" are supposed to come with the truck, then someone at both Dearborn and Kansas City is forgetting to install them because I have never seen one of those "kits" on a factory truck on a lot. Mine did not come with one ... but if it SHOULD have, I want to know, and will have my dealer install it and do an alignment at no charge.

It isn't so much about making it easier to align as it is about locking the control arm bolts in position so they won't move when you hit a pothole - or in my case jump the truck.

I never said they came from the factory. I said they solve a factory flaw. I'm not going to argue with you, I don't care if you value the 'kit' or not - but a 'kit' does exist and it does lock the lower control arms in place.

That actually makes a lot of sense, and I never saw it as a way to KEEP the truck in alignment for camber/caster. For those who really beat on their trucks, it would be a very good addition to your front end. I'm not POSITIVE that it will completely stop any movement, but it sure does look like it will keep it to an absolute minimum.

I may very well get a kit just to have it installed next time I need an alignment.

LOL I was not arguing with you ... and it's my mistake that I thought someone (wasn't sure who and was too lazy to look to see) said that they should have come with the truck - meaning they are factory parts. Now I understand you saying that they "should" have come with the truck because of the slotted connection.

We're on the same page ... and yes, again, I agree they do seem to be a good investment for someone who really rough-rides their truck a lot.

This is what I was talking about re: the kits coming with the truck from Ford ... instead of being an aftermarket part that was a smart investment.

yes, it is laughable that someone would tell you that you NEED the kit to get your truck in alignment.

This is the company I use when we sell one of our kits:
http://www.spcalignment.com/spc-performance
On this page you can use the drop downs to select your truck.

I found the best pricing at Summit:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sps-86250

Make sure you buy 2 of them, one per side.
