Default About to pull the trigger on Bilsteins

My guy is telling me that if I put the Bilstein 5100's on the front at 2.25 it will be nose high. He is saying I need to put a 1" block in the back and then it would still have a little rake which I don't mind. I just want the front lifted a little but don't want nose high.

Does this sound right? It's going on a 2013 FX4 which I thought if you only put the front bilstein struts at 2.25" and bilsteins shocks on the back at 0" the truck would sit level.

Probably close to level until you put a little weight in the back then it would be nose high.

I have not yet leveled my 2013 but on my '07 the 2" Rancho made it level and I added a leaf to the rear to get a little rake back. (and some towing stabilization)

Hmmm, are you talking about the bilstien 5100 leveling struts? Because thats what i have on my 2wd and theres 4-5 ht settings. Like the 2nd or 3rd from top it sits level on a 2wd. Definatly not a rake like the guy is telling you. I love mine i did all 4 (rears not adjustable). Front super plush. I ordered some deaver springs for the rear to get the rear as plush as the front, i have nothing negative to say about the front now but i may end up selling my brand new 5100's and my roadmaster active suspension settup if i can find a good deal on some upper arms and midtravel coilovers

BTW at the ht i chose the front way 1/2" higher then rear. Added the RAS for axel wrap fix and it just so happened to raise the rear 1". So my truck sits exactly how i want right now. Rear 1/2" to 1" higher than front

I recently measured my 2013 FX4 and the rake is 2". So common sense dictates anything above 2" will be nose high. I am considering leveling kit but prefer one solid 3" block instead of adding 1" to existing. Doubt it will make a huge difference but some state of mind with moderate 4x4ing and multiple blocks.

Default Bilstein 5100s on 2013 FX4

Here are a few pictures of my 2013 FX4 with Bilstein 5100s set on the second step down from the top. The directions indicate this is about 1.75" of lift.

Truck sits almost perfectly level.....maybe 1/2" of rake. Absolutely level with dirt bike in the bed.

Also have Bridgestone LT275/65-20 tires (spec diameter is 34.1"). No rubbing.

I went with the 2nd from top notch (1.5" setting) and my truck is perfectly level. I chose this setting to retain some rake but it did not. Luckily I didn't go to the top notch.

It really depends on truck believe it or not. When I researched levels, I read all sorts of results with them in the 2.25" setting.

I was going to go with the 1.75 setting which is one down from the top but at the dealer I decided to just go all the way as I didn't want to regret it and have to pay twice for labor. I figured if it was nose high I would put a 3" block in the rear which I can do myself.

Long story short is mine looks level to the eye, I have not put a tape to it but it looks level. Now if I put a bunch of weight in the back it will be nose high but I'm getting air bags soon so that won't be a problem any longer.

There are differences between the ones for 4wd and 2wd, there are more settings on the 2wd.

If you haven't already purchased them let me know as I can offer a discount on the Bilsteins.

I think this is where the miscommunication was. I was suggesting using a 3" block to replace the factory block and I am pretty sure he is wanting to add a 1" block to what is already there. I would end up with .75" of rake which is what I want. Make sense now....thank you.
