Ok..so this thread has me a bit paranoid now, so I'm busy googling. I'm sure many of you have seen the 5.0 shortblock replacement time lapse video by "FordTechMakuloco" (I believe he posts on the forum at times). I was checking out the comments and he posted this:
I had a 2011 f150 and ford rebuilt the engine at 20k miles, bought a 2018 with the same noise at 30k
I only buy ecos from now on
So he claims it's not detrimental to the longevity of the engine? He seems to be a fairly trusted source for info. Sure seems more risky to have someone install a new shortblock than to hear a slight knock from time to time....
Thoughts?
