Have any of you checked/listened to the transmission pan area for the knock? I have a knocking sound that is coming from that area. Same thing too, you have to listen to hear it

When I get a chance when I hear it again, I will feel and listen under the truck. I know that the filter is pretty much held in place by the pan and when I pulled mine to change fluid there is a lot of solenoids all across there. I have a pic posted in one of the transmission threads. I can also here the noise at times if I listen close and the fans are off, no traffic I hear it inside like holding my head down toward the floor. This is idle in park or gear only when I do hear it.

Hmm, that's exactly when I hear mine too. The knocking/thumping sound sounds like someone lightly tapping on the bottom of a plastic 5 gallon bucket

Years ago Toyota had a fuel pump do that before fuel injection happened. It may be fuel pressure related, loose broken fuel line bracket or engine shake causing touching/rattle an that may go over to a loose motor mount or elsewhere ?

I did feel of the tranny pan and all I can tell is the noise kinda vibrates from the engine. right now since the oil change I hear it off and on at times and right now I haven't heard it. It has been around 42-47 degrees this week at night and early morning.

When they did the compression tests on mine they said they were all good. Could you post a video?

Sorry, I didn't video it. Interesting too that they said your compression test was good. They used fords computer which turns the ignition over for like 10 seconds or so without firing the engine and gives the results in each cylinder. i did have one cylinder that was like 2% less, I think it was #8 on the back side. Did it again and all were the same. I have never had any codes to throw either, but that doesn't mean there is not a issue. right now since the oil change I have not heard the knock yet but am listening to see if it comes back as Im sure it will.

41k miles on my 2013 5.0 and I just noticed this knocking when I did my oil change as well. Noticed it when I started up my truck and looked under it to check for leaks. Knock was the most audible on the passenger side under the truck by the oil pan.

Been contemplating taking it in and getting it on record at least. Problem is, it seems so sporadic and it doesn't do it all the time so I know the service dept is just going to say they can't replicate the problem.
