Man I don't mean to be rude, but for someone that spent $14000 on a sound system... You didn't know Sony car audio is terrible.

well yes i did haha thats why id never buy it aftetmarket.. but when your spending so much money on a truck you would this ford as being the number one selling truck for years would have put something worth our time in the truck.. i was expecting it to be amazing by any means but i thought it would be ok for all i needed. i didnt want anything crazy but i wanted something more than my iphone can produce haha!

The sound from the premium sound system is below average. The biggest problem appears to be the speakers. I upgraded the door speakers with Boston Acoustics SR80's & did the subwoofer polyfill mod, the sound is now acceptable & good (much clearer & brighter).

Default Sound System

Not trying to be rude here but ALL factory speakers, amp's etc is never going to have the sound of after market systems. Though I think ford has exceeded Chevy, Dodge, GMC. I buy the truck knowing what's in the truck as buying. I bought mine for the navigation knowing Sony system came with what I picked out. It met my expectation and knowing to get a good sound would take purchasing after market system.

and i know better than most a factory system will not produce like a aftermarket one, iv stated that numerous times in a few posts here so far. Im just saying for ford to say its a 700w system thats bull****, cause i had a 5 channel 700w kicker amp in an old jeep i had and it was 10000 times better than this so called 700W.. i just dont understand how they can claim something when we all know its not 700w.. even if it only has 250w RMS which is 450watts less than the stated 700w max output its still a lie cause its not.. more or less the OP was wondering if there is any way to maximize the potential of this system instead of going aftermarket cause before as i said the speakers are noooooot distorting the amp limits the treble and bass.. i think some guys are jumping to the end of this thread and not reading all the way through.

Couldn't disagree more. My wife has a 09 Lincoln mkx limited and the system in that is unreal, crystal clear and just enough bass to make it sound great no distortion at all. I went with the "upgraded" system in my 12 f150 and doesn't hold a candle to the Lincoln. I expected way more and am rather disappointed with it

LOL if you think they are gonna let you do that. Sound is subjective to the person's ears. Good luck finding a service manager/salesman/GM to agree with you that your system sounds inferior unless it is popping/hissing/not pushing more than 2 watts, etc.
