Moni are you saying with the upcoming update we'll get factory fader control as well as OEM sounds (and volume lowering when they play) through Toslink? Or will we still need to use analog? Assuming balance will require the latter still.

Correct - there will be a dip switch setting and the toslink could be assign to either:
1. Stereo, Front only, fader controlled, Front OE sounds active, no rear OE sounds
OR
2. Stereo, Non fader controlled, All OE sounds active

meanwhile all analog channels will gain the proper OE Sounds regardless of the toslink settings.

With either option will the volume lower when alerts are played?

not on all alerts, certain alert do not reduce the volume ( for example - chimes ) , others do - like parking sensors and collision alerts. we follow the OEM behavior precisely.

Ok, so with option 2 I don't get fader (or balance?) but I get all OE alert sounds and the ones meant to reduce volume do so correctly. So basically OEM, just no OEM fader/balance, correct?

I can live without the latter (I never touch them as is after tuning) if the OE sounds all work correctly.

And just to expand on that question, with dip switch configuration option 2, when using toslink, the OE alerts will come from their respective speakers. Reverse through rear speakers, chimes through front, etc?

Let me clarify:
Most aftermarket DSP processors, including our ZEN A2B, support only a STEREO Toslink. if you want to use the Toslink output from the Zen exclusively, there can be no front / rear seperation, no factory fader, and no way to route the rear reverse to the rear speakers and chimes to the front speakers. This means chimes AND reverse would sounds through ALL speakers. Balance controls are still active in all modes.

When assigning the Toslink to the Front Speakers, and using the analog rear outputs to the DSP, you would maintain all proper front/rear routings, including the chimes / reverse and fader functions.

Completely understand! Thanks.

Understand as well, thanks. I think I will go all analog to my Audison 8.9 in this case.

Moni have you guys started shipping again? My dealer was supposed to have placed an order but said it was on backorder until yesterday (Wednesday the 13th).

Yes, I believe your order was shipped yesterday. By the time you receive it, the new software update would be release, you should update the unit the moment you receive it.
